Potsa Lotsa XL präsentiert auf dem neuen Album “Chamber Works” eine faszinierende Mischung aus Experiment, Struktur und Humor. Als langjähriges Einflussprojekt der Berliner Saxofonistin Silke Eberhard hat die Band maßgeblich den Sound der Creative-Jazz-Szene geprägt. Nach der Auszeichnung mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis im Frühjahr 2023 überrascht das zehnköpfige Kollektiv mit spontanen Aufnahmen im Studio “Zentrifuge”. Die individuelle Kombination von Ordnung und Freiheit in den sieben Studio- und der zusätzlichen Homerecording-Nummer “All Alone” zeugt von Esprit, Interaktion und klanglicher Vielfalt. Das Album zeigt erneut die Vielseitigkeit der Berliner Combo.
Potsa Lotsa XL presents a captivating blend of experimentation, structure, and humor on their new album “Chamber Works.” As a longstanding influential project led by Berlin saxophonist Silke Eberhard, the band has significantly shaped the sound of the Creative Jazz scene. Following their recognition with the German Jazz Prize in spring 2023, the ten-member collective surprises with spontaneous recordings at the “Zentrifuge” studio. The unique combination of order and freedom in the seven studio tracks, along with the additional Homerecording piece “All Alone,” showcases spirit, interaction, and sonic diversity. Once again, the album highlights the versatility of the Berlin ensemble.
